The invention of the dishwasher

Among the kitchen appliances used nowadays, one of the inventions that are perhaps the most relaxing and facilitating their work is the dishwasher. In 1850, Joel Houghton received a patent on a machine made of wood, with a hand turning on the plates and splashing water. This was the first patent on the invention of the dishwasher. The machine was not very useful and did not see any interest in the market. What about later?

Who Invented the dishwasher?

Women usually take care of the dishwashing job. It was quite boring and it was a woman who set out with the idea to make it easier to repeat every day. Josephine Cochran completed his work in 1886, saying, "If anyone does not make a dishwasher, I will do it myself". When he invented the dishwasher, he spent nearly 10 years borrowing money from his husband's inheritance and his friends.

Josephine Cochran founded a company called KitchenAid to produce a dishwasher. He invented the dishwasher in the world Fair, which was held in 1893. But the dishwasher did not show much interest except hotels and restaurants. It has produced different models, working with steam for the use of household mechanics, hotels and restaurants for the first time.

A newspaper published at that time said that Cockran's dishwasher "washed and even dried 20 dozen plates in two minutes."

The widespread use of the dishwasher at home was not possible until 1950 years.
