Hvorfor ild kommer ud af nogle bjerge?

Det er vulkaner. En vulkan er ikke et rigtigt bjerg. Først er der et hul i skorpen, kaldet lava, hvor en flydende flamme fra dybet af jorden gushers voldsomt. 

Efter Lavastrømmene bliver den kold og hærder omkring hullet. De ophobes og udgør vulkanen keglen.

Under den tynde klippe lag, som består af skorpen af jorden, er der en region, hvor stofferne, kaldet magma, er mere eller mindre flydende, ved temperaturer over 1000 grader Celsius. 

Enormt pres, der påvirker bottom-up form deformiteter i den ydre skal. Nogle gange endda, dybe og brede revner opstår. Fra disse revner begynder de smeltede stoffer at bryde ud. Så en vulkan er født. Denne lava, som normalt er glødelampe, fryser, når den flyder gennem kratere og skråninger.
