A invenção da máquina de lavar

Quem inventou a máquina de lavar?

Durante séculos, as mulheres lavaram a roupa com as mãos no córrego, esfregando-as ao lado. Onde não havia córregos, a roupa foi lavada em bacias de madeira, cobre ou ferro. Na região Sapo de Roma, as vítimas foram usadas como sabão das cinzas contendo gordo de animais sacrificados. Até o final do século 18, não havia outro método de lavagem.

 

Em 1782, em Londres, Henry Sidgier fez um barco de lavanderia fechado de madeira em hexágono. As varas de madeira colocadas dentro deste barco foram espremidas na roupa. Duas pontas do barco, duas suspensas, e então ele estava girando com força de braço. Baseado inteiramente no trabalho humano, este sistema era exaustivo e demorava mais do que os métodos usuais. A roupa molhada retirada da máquina foi espremida através dos dois rolos de madeira, de modo que a água fosse drenada e passada a ferro.

 

Em 1791, um britânico chamado Ferguson Hardie desenvolveu um sistema que permite que os rolos venham para frente e para trás com o movimento unidirecional do braço do rolo. Graças a este sistema, pelo menos o mecanismo de aperto foi fornecido com um grau de conveniência. Mas ainda assim, todos os procedimentos eram baseados no trabalho humano, e era cansativo.

 

Na América de 1797, a mesa de escovação foi inventada por Nathaniel Briggs para lavar a roupa.

 

Em 1851, o americano James King patenteou outra máquina de lavar com um tambor. A roupa estava no tambor e o tambor foi girado manualmente. Em 1858, Hamilton Smith patenteou a máquina de lavar rotativa.

 

Em 1874, em Indiana, William Blackstone criou uma máquina de lavar roupa para sua esposa como presente de aniversário.

 

Todas as máquinas de lavar roupa constituídas até 1906 anos de poder humano, muitas vezes permaneceram como ensaios amadores. Alva John Fisher inventou a primeira máquina de lavar elétrica. Em 1908, a máquina de lavar Alva Fisher foi produzida pela Hurley Machine Company em Chicago. A máquina foi chamada Thor. A patente desta máquina foi recebida em 1910 anos.

 

Em 1924, as primeiras máquinas de secagem foram liberadas.

 

Em 1937, a empresa Bendix Corporation produziu a primeira máquina de lavar totalmente automática. Desde a década de 1940, máquinas totalmente automáticas começaram a entrar no serviço de donas de casa.
