Opfindelsen af symaskinen

Symaskinen begynder i 1790 af den britiske Invventor Thomas Saint's patent på den animalsk hud, og en maskine, der vil løbende gennemgå tråd gennem disse huller, men denne maskine er ikke producenten. I 1830 lavet franske Barthélémy Thimonier en maskine, der bruger metoden "Kædesting". I en halv snes år efter dette, Thimonier produceres 80 stykker fra denne maskine, men maskinerne var destroied af en gruppe af Dresemakers, der frygtede, de ville blive taget væk fra deres arbejdspladser.

 

En søgt maskine Symi til symaskiner anvendes i dag blev produceret af den amerikanske Walter Hunt (1796-1859) for første gang. Hunt, udviklet i 1834, lavet en "cross stitch" ved hjælp af to ruller af garn og en synål. I denne søgt metode, var to tråde fastspændt til hinanden, når de passerede gennem hullet.

 

Jagten er også invventor af en sikkerhedsnål. Opfindelsen af den handicappede nål gjort det lettere for amerikanske Elias Howe at få patent på en kæde symaskine efter 12 år. Howe har fanget mod mange mennesker, herunder Isaac Singer, stamfader til dagens Singer symaskiner, kan ikke anvendes uden tilladelse fra opbevaring. Sangeren forsøger at få patent på en symaskine inspireret af Hunts maskine. Howe, som vandt sagen mod sangerinde, modtages en royalties gebyr fra sanger som følge af denne sag. På trods af dette var sanger i stand til at producere et stort antal af symaskiner og bliver først, der kommer til at tænke, når symaskinen blev kaldt i dag. I nogle lande bruger folk ordet sanger i stedet for symaskinen.
