Invenção da máquina de costura

A máquina de costura começa em 1790 pelo British Invventor Thomas Saint patente sobre a pele animal, e uma máquina que vai passar continuamente thread passando por esses buracos, mas esta máquina não é fabricante. Em 1830 o francês Barthelemy Thimonier fez uma máquina que usa o "ponto de cadeia" método. Em uma dúzia de anos após isso, Thimonier produziu 80 peças desta máquina, mas as máquinas foram destruidas por um grupo de Dresemakers que temiam que seria tirado de seus trabalhos.

 

A máquina seting Symi para as máquinas de costura usado hoje foi produzido pela American Walter Hunt (1796-1859) pela primeira vez. Hunt, desenvolvido em 1834, criou um "ponto cruz" usando dois rolos de fios e uma agulha de costura. Neste método seting, dois segmentos foram fixados uns aos outros quando eles passaram pelo buraco.

 

Hunt é também o invventor de um alfinete de segurança. A invenção da agulha com deficiência tornou mais fácil para o americano Elias Howe para patentear uma máquina de costura em cadeia após doze anos. Howe travou contra muitas pessoas, incluindo Isaac Singer, o ancestral da cantora de hoje máquinas de costura, para não ser usado sem permissão de sua retenção. Singer estava tentando obter uma patente em uma máquina de costura inspirada pela máquina de Hunt. Howe, que ganhou o caso contra Singer, recebeu uma taxa de royalties de Singer como resultado deste caso. Apesar disso, Singer foi capaz de produzir um grande número de máquinas de costura e tornando-se o primeiro a vir à mente quando a máquina de costura foi chamada hoje. Em alguns países, as pessoas usam a palavra Singer em vez da máquina de costura.
