¿Qué métodos se usan para diagnosticar cálculos renales?

La sonografía es el método más comúnmente usado en la diagnosis de las piedras del riñón y de la zona urinaria.

 

La sonografía es un método simple y rápido.

 

Además, Direct grafía es un método frecuentemente usado.

 

Aunque podemos identificar la mayor parte de las piedras en la zona urinaria con sonografía, no vemos el cerca de 10% a el 20% de ellos en sonografía.

 

Debido a que las partes que están cerca del riñón y la vejiga urinaria sólo se pueden mostrar con ultrasonido.

 

Sólo vemos las otras partes con una radiografía.

 

En el método grafía directo, sólo vemos una fracción de 50% a 60% de las piedras.

 

Algunas piedras no se pueden mostrar en los rayos X.

 

Vemos más del 90% de las piedras en el método de imagen llamada tomografía.

 

Usualmente lo hacemos sin medicación intravenosa, pero en casos de duda, es posible examinar el tracto urinario al administrar las drogas de las venas.

 

Puede también ser diagnosticado por métodos radiológicos tales como la película medicada del riñón (IVP), espiral, tomografía comparada. El plan de tratamiento varía según la ubicación, el número de piedras y el diámetro de las piedras.
