L'ecografia è il metodo più comunemente usato nella diagnosi delle pietre del tratto urinario e del rene.

 

L'ecografia è un metodo semplice e veloce.

 

Inoltre, la grafia diretta è un metodo usato frequentemente.

 

Anche se possiamo identificare la maggior parte delle pietre nel tratto urinario con l'ecografia, non vediamo circa 10%-20% di loro nell'ecografia.

 

Poiché le parti che sono vicino al rene e vescica urinaria può essere visualizzato solo con ultrasuoni.

 

Vediamo solo le altre parti con una radiografia.

 

Nel metodo grafico diretto, vediamo solo una frazione del 50% al 60% delle pietre.

 

Alcune pietre non possono essere visualizzate in raggi X.

 

Vediamo più del 90% delle pietre nel metodo di imaging chiamato tomografia.

 

Facciamo solitamente questo senza farmaco endovenoso, ma nei casi di dubbio, è possibile esaminare il tratto urinario dando le droghe dalle vene.

 

Può anche essere diagnosticata tramite i metodi radiologici quali la pellicola medicata del rene (IVP), la spirale, tomografia computata. Il piano di trattamento varia a seconda della posizione, del numero di pietre e del diametro delle pietre.
