Di manakah Rumah Api Alexandria?
Salah satu daripada tujuh Keajaiban Dunia, Rumah Api Alexandria terletak di Alexandria, Mesir. Alexandria adalah bandar kedua terbesar di pantai Mediterranean Mesir.
Bandar Alexandria ditemui dan diasaskan oleh Alexander Great pada 382 B.C. Bandar ini dinamakan sempena Alexander Great, yang juga pengasasnya.
Bandar ini terkenal dengan perpustakaan besarnya, yang terletak di luar struktur Tujuh Keajaiban dunia yang dipanggil Alexandria Lighthouse. Alexandria adalah bandar yang sangat penting dari segi pelancongan pada masa kini.
Sejarah Rumah Api Alexandria:
Pengasas bandar Alexandria, Alexander yang Agung, terpaksa menukar tanah Mesir setelah kehilangan nyawanya. Kemudian, orang-orang yang tinggal di rantau ini telah meningkatkan aktiviti perdagangan mereka dengan orang-orang Yunani dengan ketara. Atas sebab ini, sebuah rumah api yang sangat besar diperlukan.
Ini adalah sejarah yang sangat mulia dari rumah api di Alexandria sehingga bermula. Pembinaan rumah api besar ini bermula pada zaman Batlamyus.
Sejak mercusuar Alexandria adalah besar, ia tidak dapat diselesaikan semasa tempoh Batlamyus dan pembinaan tanglung itu selesai setelah pemerintahan putra Batlamyus bermula.
Selepas kemusnahan rumah api dengan banyak bencana alam berlaku pada 1408, Sultan Mamluk, rekod rumah api, membina sebuah kubu di rantau ini.
