Una dintre cele șapte minuni ale lumii, farul Alexandria este situat în Alexandria, Egipt. Alexandria este al doilea oraș ca mărime de pe coasta mediteraneană a Egiptului.
Orașul Alexandria a fost descoperit și fondat de Alexandru cel Mare la 382 î.H. Orașul este numit după Alexandru cel Mare, care este și fondatorul.
Orașul este cunoscut pentru biblioteca sa mare, care este situată în afara structurii celor Șapte Minuni ale lumii numită Lighthouse Alexandria. Alexandria este un oraș foarte important în ceea ce privește turismul în zilele noastre.
Istoria farului din Alexandria:
Fondatorul orașului Alexandria, Alexandru cel Mare, a trebuit să schimbe țara Egiptului după ce și-a pierdut viața. Apoi, oamenii care trăiesc în regiune și-au intensificat semnificativ activitatea comercială cu grecii. Din acest motiv, era nevoie de un far mare.
Aceasta este istoria foarte glorioasă a farului din Alexandria, astfel a început. Construcția acestui mare far a început în vremea lui Batlamyus.
Deoarece farul Alexandriei era mare, nu putea fi terminat în perioada Batalimiei și construcția felinarului a fost terminată după ce a început fiul lui Batlamyus.
Dupa distrugerea farului cu multe dezastre naturale care au avut loc in 1408, sultanul din Mamluk, recordul farului, a construit o cetate in aceasta regiune.
