Penemuan Kompas, bagaimana Kompas bekerja?

Dimanapun kami berada di dunia, kami selalu dapat menemukan cara kami melaluiKompas dalam cara yang sangat mudah. Saat ini Kompas selalu menjadi cara termudah meskipun ada perangkat yang sangat canggih seperti satelit GPS. Kompas memiliki sebuah panah magnet yang seimbang dan diletakkan di atas jarum sehingga ia dapat bergerak hampir tanpa gesekan. Panah ini, berkat magnet pada medan magnet bumi utara (North magnetisme),selalu menunjukkan Utara.

 

Kita dapat menganggap dunia sebagai magnet besar. Medan magnet dunia diarahkan ke urutan tertentu dalam proses pembentukan dan menunjukkan karakteristik magnet. Dengan demikian, Kutub Utara ditujukan sebagai S. Kutub Selatan juga diarahkan pada N. Huruf N dan S digunakan dalam magnet juga terinspirasi oleh KutubUtara dan Selatan.
