Fast protes: Den är indelad i fast protes med implanterat stöd och kronprotes.

Rörlig protes: Full rörlig protes, Partiell rörlig protes, Implant-stödd rörlig protes.


Implantat stöds flyttbara proteser klassificeras enligt typerna av leder.

Delvis rörliga proteser är indelade i två, en är flätad och den andra är känslig konsol

Helt rörliga proteser är indelade i två, normala och stödda.


Det finns magnetiska proteser som appliceras på patienter som inte har för mycket stödjande vävnad, har inga tänder på munnen och har för stor förlust av käftbenet.


Ibland kan det önskade resultatet inte uppnås i totala tandproteser som appliceras hos fullständigt tandlösa patienter.

Detta ses hos patienter med extrem förlust av käkben. Totala proteser som appliceras på dessa patienter kan komma ut ur patientens mun medan de äter eller pratar.

När en magnetisk protes appliceras, rör sig protesen inte. Ätning och tugga är inte besvärliga. Det återfår självförtroende i det sociala livet.
